Tzarskoye selo, Catherine palace + Amber room

Former contryside royal residence Tzarskoye selo was established at the very beginning of the XVIII century by our first Empress Catherine I. But the building which we can see today is the result of brilliant work of prominent architect Francesco Bartolomeo Rastrelli. Catherine palace is the gem of rich baroque style, with the diamont in the center — Amber room. Hand made plagues of amber decorate the walls of room with wonderfull frames and pictures of florentine mosaic. Park territory is wonderfull combination of French regular and English landscape parks with different pavilions and marable sculpture.
