Literature is inseparable from our city. Our tour tells about russian and american poet Joseph Brodsky and Leningrad culture of 1960-s.
Joseph Brodsky, poet, immigrant, Nobel laureate of 1987 was born in St.Petersburg and lived here 32 years until 1972 when he left to the US. Beloved city inspired Brodsky, he perceived St Petersburg as Eternal City with a thorough and unique culture which overcame the Blocade and the Death.
We'll speak about cultural situation in USSR, in Leningrad: about strict government policy, about fight between creative freedom and coarse burocracy, about individuality and mass culture.
The route will include places, connected with Brodsky in the city:

— The Study of J. Brodsky in the Anna Akhmatova Museum in the Fountain House
