Saint Petersburg, Russia’s “window to Europe” carved against all odds by the will of a single man (Peter the Great), is an unprecedented masterpiece of urban planning and architecture. This Narcissus city that admires its own reflection in the mirror of its countless rivers and canals. One can see much more in the reflection than in direct gaze — and that's why we'll use the looking glass to explore it. For a curious mind and eye armed with proper equipment, its landscape may become a true Wonderland full of mysteries and places of power.

Our photo walk is based on usage of mirrors of different shapes and sizes that will serve as portals to city’s otherside: by placing them in different places and choosing the proper angle of shoot, we’ll catch urban textures, patterns and oddities. We will dive into an incredibly rich urban landscape and hunt for visual impressions and unforgettable pictures of the city.

Depending on the chosen itinerary, you will see different sides of Saint Petersburg: from the mysterious Peter and Paul fortress, marvelous necklace of embankments around the delta of Neva river and many-faced Nevsky prospect, to exquisite and romantic Art Nouveau districts of Petrogradskaya side or stark, impressive landscapes of its industrial and Soviet districts.

A detailed and coherent narrative about the structure, history and contemporary life of different districts of Saint Petersburg will also be provided. This experimental walk will be interesting to beginner photographers as well as professional ones.

We were looking for something different, and we had it! :) Despite a crap weather that day, Arsene managed to guide us through hidden city gems that we would have never seen by ourselves, without his help. And kept us captivated from the beginning til the end! It was a outta beaten trails tour. And having extra available time on both sides, we extended the tour by an hour to also explore the most beautiful metro stations from St Petersburg. Highly recommended to anyone willing to have a different view on the nice city. Thks again Arsene for being our guide that Sunday! ;) Cheers from Didier & Dez. :) {excellent english & french spoken too}

Amazing tour! We had a rough start to the day and almost canceled. We are so happy that we didn't. Arsene is a wonderful guide! He was very informative and accommodating. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in architectural history, urban decay or if you just want to get out of the tourist hot spots.

Arsene is an exceptionally well qualified, knowledgeable, interesting, friendly, professional guide that we recommend warmly. His wide range of deep, precise knowledge, attentive ear to all questions, personal involvement and evident love of his city made his tour a true pleasure for us both. Erling and Linn, Norway.
