Mtskheta - old capital
Mtskheta — the former capital of Georgia, until the 5th century AD, Mtskheta was the capital and in the 5th century our illustrious king Vakhtang Gorgasali transferred the capital to Tbilisi.

Jvari — the temple of the 6th century AD, offering stunning views of the mountains.
Svetitskhoveli is the main cathedral of Georgia, where many relics are kept including the mantle of Elijah the prophet, as well as the Heaton of Jesus Christ and a part of the cross on which Jesus was crucified on Mount Golgotha.
Samtavro Monastery, a female monastery, where St. Nina lived, lived during the period of the advancement of Christianity in Georgia.
