Zion National Park
The name “Zion” means the “residence of God”. Actually, this is a kind of place where time seems to be stopped…
The history of Zion National Park is the wind, water and stones. Relatively soft and porous sandstones were cut by water and wind and turned into bizarre rocks in the shapes of towers, spires and arches.
Tour program:
Zion Canyon is long and deep, sometimes it becomes narrower, sometimes wider, restless Virgin river cut these pinky-orange rocks into two part of 1,000 meters high. Doing its winding way to the ancient places it formed the canyon of marvelous beauty, where millions of tourists come every year to go through the 5 kilometer long trail and reach the natural observation called «Landing Angel», or to walk up to the waist in water among the cliffs. The road is surrounded by beautiful cliffs, which has unusual names: Big White Throne, Yard of the Patriarchs, Castle Roof, Organ, Landing Angel, Echo Canyon.
Photographers claim that Zion is the most beautiful park in Utah. But, at the same time, there is a big competition, because Bryce Canyon and Arches National Parks are situated near it. Tastes differ, but the wonderful mix of coastal forest with waterfalls really cuts a figure.
