"I had a fantastic time touring the famed city of Stalingrad with Vladimir and our driver, Aleksey. I saw Enemy at the Gates as a kid and this trip has always been on my bucket list. Both Vladimir and Aleksey are stand up guys, very friendly and professional. Vladimir has an encyclopedic knowledge of the battle and did a really great job tailoring all the highlights into a two day period. His command English is really phenomenal, too. The first two days we saw landmarks in the city center, the Mill by the embankment, Red October factory, 'Motherland Calls,' and drove outside the city to explore significant landmarks inside the 'Kessel.' I'd hate to ruin the surprises in store for you... the sense of loss, and sheer awe....It's just something you need to see to understand. I ended up spending the 3rd day on my own touring the museum, seeing the basement where German Field Marshall Paulus was captured, and taking a boat ride. I may advise that you keep Vladimir for that 3rd day to translate because the museum is really good - on par with Great Patriotic War museum in Moscow, excluding massive inventory of tanks and planes, but a lot of unique things in there. Just don't expect to see much translated in English so you won't absorb or appreciate half of what you could. In short, you could see just about everything in 2-3 days, but I'd say go for 3 since I was torn with the opportunity cost of spending more time elsewhere. As a city, Volgograd is a quiet town but the people are very friendly and proud of their history. It's hard not to forget teenagers practicing their own Changing of the Guard ceremony...the honor in carrying on a sacred tradition. Lastly, I would highly recommend advanced reading and study. Antony Beevor's 'Stalingrad' is a great place to start - I've read it twice now it's so good. You'll be in great hands with Vladimir though. Go for it!"

Having been to Russia a few times it’s really important to get things booked in advance. This trip was easy to do and I used his services for both transport to and from the airport and for the battlefield tour. In all our interactions I was very impressed with the courtesy and timeliness Vladimir displayed. The roads around town aren’t great and those around the dam are atrocious so be prepared for some rough/bumpy driving. Vladimir is very clearly an expert in his field and took me to some off the beaten track sites that you would never find on your own. The sites are awesome and definitely worth a visit. Very impressed with his integrity; I over paid due to a mis- communication and he gave me money back without me even bringing it up. Even though there was a World Cup game on he steered us through the sites without long delays. Definitely recommended. Two recommendations for travelers - the tour started at 11 and ran through til 4 without a food stop, eat before you go and take water with you. Secondly at this time of year it’s hot and the black fly are really bad in the city, make sure you put on insect repellant.

Perfecte gids.

I was visiting Russia during world cup and Volgograd(Stalingrad) was one of my destinations. I was on a battelfield zone tour outside of the city with Vladimir and his driver. We went to Kalach among other things. He know the history very well as well as the hiostory of the area. Time with him was a very asset to the my stay. I can give Vladimir my best recommendations.

Vladimir is an excelente Tour Guide. He knows a lot about the history of the city, specially about the Stalingrad Battle. He has got a lot of tour to do, at an excelent price also. He speaks really good english. He also has a guy who drives, while he speaks about the city. If you go to Volgograd you should contact him. I'd recomend him totally.

Vladimir Zhukov is extremely knowledgeable about his subject matter. He gave us a very detailed and clear understanding of the Stalingrad battle as well as showing us something of the city and the area. Very charming companion as well. His driver was excellent and we both felt very safe in his hands. We both recommend him highly.

Valdimir Zhukov was an excellent guide. Not of just the city but of the battlefield and the history and the people. Sarepta was excellent as well. Very reasonably priced and well worth it.
